Description

Heralding HEC Montréal’s return to downtown, the Hélène Desmarais Building combines modernity, functionality and sustainability.

Three overarching themes have guided the project’s development

Dynamic – a contemporary look in terms of its layout, dimensions, and materials.

---

Light – a building that blends into the urban fabric, juxtaposing the lightness of the new structure and the bulk of the older surrounding buildings.

---

Respectful – acknowledging the protected heritage areas and conversing with the surroundings through its façades and angles offering sightlines from Rue De La Gauchetière and Côte du Beaver Hall.

The avant-garde facilities offer an environment conducive to learning and collaboration. It embodies HEC Montréal's commitment to excellence and the development of tomorrow's leaders.

The Hélène Desmarais Building has integrated sustainable development principles from the earliest stages of its collaborative design and will continue doing so long after it has opened for business. It is a space for innovation and a model of sustainability that also helps to bolster the collective influence of a strong network of community members.

The project respects provincial sustainable development requirements and obtained the LEED Gold certification.
