Derek M. Bruno is a proud member of the Samson Cree Nation in Alberta. Having served two terms as Councillor for his Nation, he has firsthand experience with municipal–Indigenous relationships.

As the Founder and Managing Partner of SevGen Consulting, a national Indigenous-led firm, he leads and oversees visionary projects that bridge Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, including the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ First Nations–Municipal Community Economic Development Initiative (CEDI) — the only program of its kind in Canada.

His passion for community development inspires his strengths-based approach to supporting municipalities along their Indigenous relations journey.
