Melissa became the Assistant Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Forests six years ago in the Timber, Range, and Economics Division. Over the years, she was responsible for BCTS Provincial Operations, Timber Pricing Branch, Compensation and Business Analysis, Range and trade and export policy and forest sector transformation, including the first Value-Added Sector Strategies team. She also led the Intentions Paper, the Provincial Forestry Forum and the Pulp Fibre Taskforce.

In August, Melissa became the Assistant Deputy Minister for the Coast region.

Melissa is dedicated to supporting economic development, building strong communities throughout the coast and Indigenous reconciliation.
